We got snow!! Ski Trails Are OPEN!
The park’s glaciated terrain provides a wide range of beginner to expert level ski options on 86 km of world-class groomed ski trails. Trails are groomed for both skate and classic skiing. New this year: the 15 km of single-track classic only trails are now open for snowshoeing, fat biking and dogs.
Enjoy the beauty of the Northwoods as you glide beneath a canopy of snow-laden trees, visit the crackling trailside fires, and explore the far-reaches of this 6,500 acre winter wonderland! We take great pride in bringing you the best conditions possible with whatever Mother Nature gives us.

Trails and Conditions :: Minocqua Winter Park
The 2km Bunny Loop ski route strings together three easy trails into our shortest beginner-friendly loop. It also features educational, and sometimes silly activities for the whole family! Follow the bunny signs from the Chalet. Visit Programming/Trail Activities :: Minocqua Winter Park for more info!
The 5.5km Cookie Loop ski route is a great starting point for beginners and those looking for an easier ski. This loop features a great motivational tool in which skiers can earn a free cookie by collecting hole punches along the trail. Follow the cookie signs from the Chalet. Visit Programming/Trail Activities :: Minocqua Winter Park for more info!
Want to ski with your pup? Check out our skijor route that strings together 4 ski trails into a 6.6km loop. This route is open 7 days a week. All dogs must be leashed when on the trail
We love the cozy feeling of a winter campfire. Four trail-side shelters and fire pits are located around the park which offer a perfect spot for a break on your winter adventures. The Tea House is open on weekends and holidays, but all others are open every day. Sip hot cocoa, roast marshmallows, test your winter animal tracking skills, and watch the birds at the feeders. Each shelter has its own unique charm.
Want to explore the park in a more intimate and quiet setting? This intermediate single-track classic ski trail system offers a more intimate old-school ski experience thanks to the narrower 8’ wide trails. Snowshoeing, fat biking, and dogs are all allowed. Check out the trail guide and maps above for more details.
Free with the purchase of a trail pass, this “social ski” program provides a way to connect with fellow skiers and find new friends. Explore different areas of the trail system and build ski confidence in an encouraging, supportive, and fun way! Visit Saturday Meet N' Ski Program :: Minocqua Winter Park for more info!
Need to rent skis for the family? The Minocqua Winter Park Ski Shop has a wide variety of rentals from kids to adults. New to skiing? Lessons are a great way to be introduced into the sport on the right foot...umm ski. The ski shop has PSIA certified instructors who are avid skiers and love teaching! The Ski Shop also runs the Nordic Wolves and Pups youth ski program for kids aged k-5th grade.
Minocqua Winter Park Ski Shop (mwpskishop.com)
Nordic Wolves & Pups is a skier development program run by the Minocqua Winter Park Ski Shop. The goal is to provide an opportunity for families with children in kindergarten through 5th grades to have fun while becoming cross-country skiers.
Are there any beginner-friendly ski routes?
Absolutely! We have 14km of beginner-level trails. Some loops stay close to the chalet, and others offer a chance to get further away and experience the quieter side of the park. We have two loops in particular that offer great motivation along the way:
The 2km Bunny Loop features 8 interactive stations along the way with educational, and sometimes silly, activities and trivia. Themes change every two weeks.
The 5km Cookie Loop is a great option for those with a sweet tooth. Pick up a free punch card from the Chalet and collect punches at all 5 mailboxes along the route to receive a free cookie back at the Chalet.
Where do I purchase a season pass?
Season passes are called memberships and can be purchased in person at the Chalet during regular business hours or online here. Memberships are valid for one year from date of purchase and gives you access to the winter and summer trail systems as well as our brand new 18 hole Squirrel Hill Disc Golf Course (open during the summer months).
Can someone walk/snowshoe on the trails with me while I ski?
No. Walking or snowshoeing is not allowed on any part of the ski trails. These activities can damage the trails and leave deep footprints in the trail that are dangerous and uncomfortable to ski through and can be impossible for our grooming equipment to remove. Snowshoeing/walking is only allowed on our designated snowshoe trails.
There are many ways you can support the amazing trail system here at Minocqua Winter Park. There’s a lot that goes into managing and maintaining nearly 100 km of trails!
