Jo Horton

President

My name is Jo Horton. I am the mother of three adult children and a proud new grandparent. I was a schoolteacher for many years, elementary through community college, in both classroom and workshop settings. I currently serve as board president of the Minocqua Winter Park Foundation.

I developed my passion for Nordic Skiing while stationed in Germany with my family. After twenty years of military service and a pause in Bend, Oregon, we relocated back to my home state of Wisconsin. Marshfield became my home for the next fifteen years and it was during this time I discovered Minocqua Winter Park.

Now, living nearby, I can hike, ski, and snowshoe whenever I like. My passion for the outdoors, physical exercise and the opportunity to share these experiences with friends and family has helped solidify my commitment to the work of the board.
