2024 Winter and Outdoor Gear Swap -Presented by the Lakeland Nordic Ski Team

Lakeland Nordic Ski Team will be hosting a community-wide “Winter & Outdoor Gear Swap” event at Lakeland Union High School in Minocqua on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 10 am to 1:00 pm. Not only is this a great event to pick up some winter gear for yourself, it’s also an opportunity to clean out some of your gently used outdoor recreational gear and get paid for those items.

Cross country skiing not your preferred winter activity? Don’t worry - the event will also have items for sale such as downhill skiing, snowboarding, hockey, ice skating, ice fishing, biking, snowshoeing and lots of other gear and winter accessories to get you active in the outdoors and keep you warm while you’re doing it!

Anyone interested in dropping off winter gear or equipment to donate or sell, swing by Friday, November 15, 5:30-8 pm or Saturday, November 16, 7:30 am to 9:00 am at Lakeland Union High School. LNST has the right to refuse any item. Payment for all sold items and any remaining gear will be available at 1:00 pm after the event —any items not picked-up are considered a donation. 

Purchases made with cash are preferred for all swap related items—credit cards or Venmo will also be accepted but will incur a service fee. All items brought to the event must be clean and in good condition. 

Preferred winter outdoor recreational gear include: cross country skis, downhill skis, poles, boots, winter jackets, snow pants, winter accessories, goggles, helmets (must be new, in the box), snowshoes, ice-skates, hockey gear, fat tire bikes, ice fishing equipment, snowmobiling gear, ski boxes or anything else winter related. 

Local vendors and other ski experts will be available to assist those in getting all the gear and clothing needed for a great winter season. This is a key fundraising event - the Lakeland Nordic Ski Team will receive 30% of all sales. Proceeds help support a local youth - based cross country ski club by funding expenses such as race fees, coaching assistance, safety training, transportation, uniforms, and other rising operational costs.

The Lakeland Nordic Ski Team is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering Lakeland youth through Nordic skiing, instilling a lifelong passion for the sport, and promoting excellence in all areas of life. Lakeland area kids in grades 3-12 are able to take full advantage of the cross-country ski trails at Minocqua Winter Park and other local ski trails, learn the basic techniques of Nordic skiing and train and participate in races throughout Wisconsin.
